The Lakewood Rangers Boys Basketball Team (5-6) opened up Great Lakes Conference Tournament play with a decisive 56-40 victory over Elyria Catholic. The Rangers stormed out to a 27-0 lead behind strong pressing team defense, and early offensive contributions from Pete Patsouras (19), Riley Ulintz (14) and Ayden Wacker (13). Wacker’s return to the lineup gave the Rangers a lift—his 3 point range stretches the defense and helps open up the inside game. M.J. Grayer got the Rangers started, scoring his 6 points early on and contributing rebounds and steals. JaQuan Neal chipped in 4 points and his usual tenacious defense, while Andre Halllenburg and 2. The Rangers travel to Bay Village to take on the number one seed Rockets Friday night. Tune in to the Ranger Sports Channel for all the action.
